All is not as it seems...ATSF 102 is NOT the as delivered FP45 ATSF 102. Like the rebuilt SD45-2, most of the new numbers do not relate to the prior numbers. So this ATSF 102:5 was actually last seen as ATSF 5998, and was delivered as ATSF 108:2. What makes this worse is when the next renumbering comes this unit will become ATSF 5998 AGAIN (but only for less than 60 days) before getting its final Santa Fe number of ATSF 98. So the unit seen here is the same one now at Perris, CA as ATSF 108 in as delivered paint. |
